🔄 Our Complete Service Process

Step 1: Order

Choose your package above and check out.

Step 2: Collect Your Hair Sample (2 Options)

  1. Fast Track (Recommended — Skip the Mail Wait!):
    • Where to Cut: Take hair from the chest area. If your goat is outdoors, clean the area with rubbing alcohol and let it dry completely before cutting.
    • How Much & Length: Cut as close to the skin as possible. You need about 125 mg (approx. 1 tablespoon) of hair. Keep only the 1.5 inches closest to the skin and trim off any extra length.
    • Packaging: Place the hair directly into a clean paper envelope. Do NOT use plastic baggies, aluminum foil, or tape the sample to paper, as these contaminate the sample or make it difficult to extract at the lab. Write your name and order details on the envelope.
  2. Standard Kit: We will mail an official ARL sampling kit (includes a paper sample scale and envelope) to your address within 48 hours.

Step 3: Mail Sample

Send your sample directly using the prepaid mailer (or use the provided lab return address if using your own envelope).

Step 4: Lab Processing

We submit and coordinate processing with ARL Laboratories (2–3 week turnaround from lab receipt).

Step 5: Goat-Specific Analysis & Report

We interpret your lab data using caprine-specific ranges and generate your comprehensive report.

Step 6: Consultation & Implementation

Join us for your 1-on-1 video or phone consultation to review findings, receive your custom protocol, and begin implementation with priority email support.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I collect the hair sample?

A: Trim approximately 1 tablespoon (125 mg) of hair from the chest area as close to the skin as possible. If your goat is outdoors, clean the chest area with rubbing alcohol and let it dry completely before cutting.

Q: What if I have more goats than the package includes?

A: We offer dedicated packages for 1 goat ($228), 3 goats ($497), 4 goats ($662), and 5 goats ($797). If you have a larger herd of 6 or more goats, contact us directly for a custom herd evaluation quote!

Q: How long does the whole process take?

A: If you request a physical kit, it ships within 48 hours. If you use our Fast Track option, you can mail your sample immediately! Lab processing at ARL takes 2–3 weeks from receipt, and we generate your report and schedule your consultation within 72 hours of receiving lab results.

Q: Can I test sheep, alpacas, or other animals?

A: We specialize in caprine (goat) health and mineral interpretation. However, if you have other livestock or pets, contact us first to discuss availability. Other animals include Horses, Cats and Dogs.

Q: What if my goat has very short hair?

A: Chest, belly, or leg hair all work! Just ensure you collect at least 1 tablespoon (125 mg) total from clean hair close to the skin.

🛡️ Our Commitment & Satisfaction Promise

Satisfaction Promise: We stand behind the depth and accuracy of our educational analysis. If you feel your report or consultation didn’t clearly address your herd’s mineral status, we will conduct a follow-up review of your lab data to answer any remaining questions at no extra charge. (Please note: Third-party ARL lab processing fees are non-refundable once the sample has been processed).

Quality Assurance: We partner exclusively with ARL Laboratories, the industry leader in Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis utilizing specialized caprine reference standards.

⚖️Important Disclaimers & Notices

Educational & Informational Purpose Only

The information provided through our Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) testing and interpretation service is for educational and informational purposes only. It is not intended as veterinary medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your licensed veterinarian or qualified animal health provider with any questions regarding your goat’s medical condition. Never disregard professional veterinary advice or delay seeking it because of information provided through our service.

Scope of Service

Our service provides hair tissue mineral level analysis, pattern recognition, and educational nutritional recommendations. We do not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Our recommendations focus strictly on nutritional and dietary support and should be implemented in consultation with your herd health veterinarian.

Test Limitations

Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) reflects cellular mineral status over approximately 3–4 months and serves as a tool for assessing long-term nutritional trends. Results can be influenced by external contamination, topical treatments, water minerals, or improper collection methods. HTMA should be utilized as part of a comprehensive management strategy rather than a standalone diagnostic tool.

Laboratory Independence

We utilize Analytical Research Labs (ARL) for all hair tissue sample processing. We operate as an independent service provider and are not employed by or affiliated with ARL beyond utilizing their professional laboratory services.

Results & Recommendations

Interpretation is based on established principles of caprine mineral metabolism, available research, and our clinical observation. Individual animal variations—including breed, age, reproductive status, forage quality, and environment—impact mineral dynamics. Guidelines provided should be adapted to your specific farm management system.

Supplement & Herbal Safety

Always introduce new feeds, minerals, or herbal supplements gradually. Monitor your goats closely during any nutritional adjustments, and consult your veterinarian immediately if an animal shows signs of illness, distress, or acute toxicity.

By using our service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.
